Commute and Airport — The Decisive Difference
For anyone who flies regularly, this is not close. Charlotte Douglas International is roughly 20 minutes from The Sanctuary's gate; from most of Lake Norman's shoreline it is 40 minutes or more, and the I-77 corridor is the metro's least forgiving stretch of highway in peak hours. Uptown, SouthPark and Ballantyne all favor the southwest side as well. If your week involves the airport or an office south of the city, Lake Wylie reclaims hours every month.
Water Character
Lake Norman's scale is its advantage: long open runs, room for sailing and larger cruisers, and a deep marina infrastructure.
