Private docks on Lake Wylie are permitted by Duke Energy under its Shoreline Management Plan, based on shoreline classification, water depth, cove width and spacing from neighbors, and they also need the community's approval. Interior owners reach the water through the waterfront amenity area or keep a boat at a nearby Lake Wylie marina.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The community is in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina; the association lists Winget Park Elementary and Southwest Middle, and CMS moved the Winget Park area to the new Palisades High School in 2022. Clover School District serves South Carolina addresses across the lake, not The Sanctuary. Verify by address for the year you enroll.

North Carolina. Homes pay Mecklenburg County and City of Charlotte property tax, and residents file North Carolina income tax. South Carolina's York County treatment applies only to homes across the lake. Confirm specifics with a tax professional.
